My son , Jonathan, has severe learning disabilities. He has Downs Syndrome Autism and extremely limited communication skills. He has been coming to Freedom Support since he was 17 years old ( almost 5years now)

In that time his self confidence and social skills have increased dramatically

The staff refuse to let Jonathan be a placid observer ( he’s very laid back) and get him up and moving and taking part in all the activities on offer from helping at the allotment, bushcraft, football training, gym work and drama. He is even currently  taking part in a hairdressing course!!!

Jonathan loves going to “Freedom” and is always eager to head off with Andy on the bus each morning and comes home tired but happy each evening!

The next step is to get Jonathan a place at one of “Freedoms” Supported Living houses, where the social interaction he enjoys during the day can continue and that he can further develop the degree of independence he deserves in a safe and happy environment with people who already know and understand him.

Where he will be supported by caring staff, who both Jonathan and I trust, who will continue to encourage him to reach his full potential as a valued and included member of the community!
