October 2018 – a brief recap and other bits……
October has been a month of change. The expansion of Freedom Supported Living with two more homes means that Freedom Team has got bigger. New starters are Neil, Gill, Ben and Henry who became part of Team Freedom on 29th October. They will be working together at one of our new homes in Market Harborough. It really is an exciting time….a new house in Desborough is likely and we will be recruiting in the new year if all goes well. On 1st October we welcomed Steven to the Training Academy as he took up a support worker post. Welcome to the Freedom family!
We sadly had to say goodbye to Rebecca our Catering Support Worker at Freedom Support Training Academy who will be spending more time with her family. We will miss her and wish her the best. We are now recruiting to her post and hope to find someone new very soon. It cant come soon enough for Hayley B the Academy Team Leader who is currently covering this role as well as doing her usual job….she is an expert in multi tasking thankfully.
Freedom were invited to The Houses of Parliament and the Arsenal game against Leicester City as well as our usual shenanigans at the Halloween party and all our amazing clients accessing our wonderful courses. (please see the blog posts) Theres never a dull moment.
New and extended courses at the Training Academy are
Singing with Kyle (WEA)
Allotment with Kate (WEA)
Tennis with Market Harborough Tennis Club (Extended)
LCFC inclusive sports on Fridays (Extended)
Toms Gym on Monday afternoons. (Extended)
Thank you as always to our course tutors, project leads and supporters – you are all amazing. We couldn’t do this without you.
We learnt that some of our clients would be receiving an award at the Harborough Sports Award on November 15th (look out for the blog) which is going to be an emotional event. This will be a fantastic opportunity for our clients to show everyone what they are capable of.
Freedom Support Family Carers Group met to listen to Andrew Hitchon from Bray and Bray talk about getting Power of Attorney for loved ones and all the legal aspects of this. FSFCG will be meeting again on 11th December 6pm at Freedom Support Training Academy HQ. If you are a carer, family member of friend of someone that attends or lives with Freedom Support you are very welcome. Just don’t forget to bring biscuits!
If you would like to come and talk to our group about anything you feel they may be interested in please get in touch.
Some exciting changes to Freedom structure will be happening soon so look out for next months blog to find out exactly what is happening. Until then keep dancing……..
With love from all at Freedom Support.

‘Light of Progressive Glory’
In addition to our news blog we would like to take this opportunity to say a few words about the tragic accident at the King Power Stadium recently. Everyone at Freedom Support Solutions Ltd would like to express our sadness at the passing of a man that helped to enrich the lives of people with learning disabilities, carers and families. Without Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha opportunities with Leicester City Football Club would not have existed for our clients. He was a kind and generous man and we will never forget what he did for us at Freedom Support. Our thoughts are with all the families and friends of all those involved and everyone affected by this awful tragedy.
Much love to you all.
The Freedom Support Solutions Family.
